Using WooCommerce Skip Checkout

Once you have activated the WooCommerce Skip Checkout any products in your WooCommerce shop that are a download and are free do no longer have to go through the whole checkout process as if the customer is buying something.
This is achieved by replacing the 'Add to cart' button with a download button.
Configuring a download folder
WooCommerce Skip Checkout works very simple, but because you're offering free downloads the files for that can not be stored in the same location as your regular paid downloads. This is because the normal download location is protected by WooCommerce.
To do so, create a publicly available folder somewhere on your hosting space.
For example: /wp-content/free-downloads/
If you have a WordPress file manager plugin installed you can upload files through that, or use regular (s)FTP or Webdav to upload the files.
Creating a free product
- Create your downloadable products as you normally would but make sure that 'Downloadable' is ticked, also set the price to 0 (zero).
- Upload the files you want to provide for free to the unprotected folder and link the correct and complete url in the files field when creating your product.
This'll look something like: https://example.com/wp-content/free-downloads/download.zip (obviously name your zip-files appropriately.) - Click save and make sure that the download button works on the product page.
The plugin has no settings.
