How to: Install a plugin on your website
Installing my plugins in WordPress and Classicpress is super easy and usually only takes a few minutes.
If you've bought a plugin through this website you can install it through the Manual Upload method. After the transaction is completed you'll receive an email with your download links. You can also find your downloads in your account.
Free plugins can be downloaded through the product pages of each applicable plugin, some of them are also available through hub2wp and or the WordPress website.
Upload and install plugins yourself via the dashboard:
- Login to your Wordpress dashboard and navigate to the Plugins page.
- On the Plugins page click Add New and click on Upload.
- Upload the ZIP file you have downloaded (For example: payment-gateway-stats.zip or adrotate.zip) file and wait for Wordpress to tell you it's finished.
This may take a few seconds. - Once done navigate back to the Plugins page.
- Here you'll see every plugin you have installed. Scroll down the list until you see the plugin you've just uploaded.
- Click on the little Activate link below the plugin name.
- And done!
For most of my plugins you can look under the plugin description to see a few highlighted links. For example, there might be a link to the settings page there. All plugins will have a link to get help with using it, should you need it.
My plugins usually have their menu in the WordPress Tools dashboard or Settings dashboard page. Larger plugins such as AdRotate Banner Manager have their own menu in the WordPress Dashboard sidebar.
If you also want to receive updates through your dashboard, install GooseUp as well.
GooseUp is a free add-on for all my plugins so you can receive updates right in your dashboard. GooseUp also supports Auto-Updates.
Check out the download page for more information. Or download the plugin right here.
Install a plugin though hub2wp:
Hub2wp is a great way of installing and updating plugins without the need of the WordPress website. Easily accessed from your dashboard and many large and popular plugins are available through hub2wp. All my free to use plugins that are available through the WordPress website can also be downloaded through hub2wp.
If you haven't already, install the hub2wp plugin. You can download the latest version from GitHub. And, you guessed it, this plugin is installed using the Upload steps further down on this page. Once installed, you can easily install other plugins as described in the steps directly below this paragraph.
- Login to your Wordpress dashboard and navigate to the Plugins > Add GitHub plugin page.
- On the Add GitHub plugin page click type what you're looking for, for example my 'No-Bot Registration' or 'AdRotate' plugin.
- Click the 'install now' button for the plugin that you want to install.
- When the plugin is installed click ‘activate’.
- And done!
Install a plugin from the Wordpress repository:
